I’m Afonso Melara, born in Lisbon and rooted in Alcácer do Sal since the age of 12. A passionate traveler, local surfer of the Tróia–Comporta–Carvalhal coastline and canyoning enthusiast in the mountains of Marvão. A true lover of history – something I inherited from my mother, a history teacher, and my father, a local architect who shaped my sense of place and design.

For over six years I have worked in tourism, creating immersive journeys that go beyond the obvious. I am the founder of Marvão Adventure and hold a Master’s in Active and Experiential Tourism from the Estoril Higher School of Hospitality and Tourism. My path has taken me far: four months exploring Southeast Asia, four months discovering South America, guiding travelers as a tourism instructor, and now sharing the authentic side of my homeland.

Comporta Experience was born from this journey. It combines my passion for adventure, the ocean and local culture to reveal a side of this region only a true local can show – secret trails, timeless rice fields and unforgettable Atlantic sunsets. As your guide, I design each experience with care, creating private moments you will always remember.
